Umbra is a strange, transient traveler from the far northern reaches of Eidolon. Her arrival is often preceded by frost creeping over windowpanes and fires burning just a little dimmer. She claims she means no harm - and truly, she doesn't - but it can be hard to believe her when simply standing too close makes the air taste like iron.

No one quite knows what she is - some call her a ghost that never learned she died while others wonder if she's a forgotten handmaiden of an aloof god. All Umbra will ever say about herself is that she's "just passing through." What's certain is that she's lonely - achingly, unbearably so.

Umbra IS:

• A fem-presenting, human-passing person of indeterminate origin and age - appears mid-twenties at a glance, though there's a sense she's been around far longer. About 5'0", short and plump. She's almost always bundled in layers of heavy winter clothing regardless of the weather.
  
• Pretty, but in an uncanny way - she never seems to blink, her skin is pale to the point of looking corpselike and the tips of her fingers, toes, and ears are blackened as if frostbitten.
  
• Always cold to the touch sometimes enough to frost glass or make someone's breath mist just by brushing touching them.
  
• Kind of... hard to be around? Her presence causes anxiety, dizziness, and vertigo in most mortals. Touching her can make people nauseous or faint.
  
• Soft-spoken, fawning, and desperate for connection often to an unsettling degree. She's intensely affectionate to the people who are kind to her, almost worshipful, but never quite understands why it's offputting.
  
• Quiet and mournful and endlessly apologetic for the space she takes up - if she could disappear without hurting anyone, she probably would.

• Actively malicious or sadistic - her creepiness isn't intentional.
  
• Childlike, naïve, or innocent.
  
• Familiar with modern day culture or technology.
  
• Alive in the usual sense.
